I used to think formula fields were just for simple math or string concatenation. This month, I realized they’re way more powerful than that.
I built a formula that automatically calculates a next follow-up date based on a custom logic—and it worked across record types without needing automation or flow.
What I love:
Real-time calculations, no need to update manually
Tons of built-in functions like TEXT(), CASE(), ISBLANK()
Great for creating clean, readable logic in fields and flows
Now I’m starting to use formulas everywhere—from field visibility to conditional highlighting in reports. I even built a formula that generates emoji icons based on record status. Not sorry.
