Page Layouts were one of those features I didn’t appreciate until I watched someone struggle to find a field buried at the bottom of a record page.
A good layout = a good user experience. Full stop.
Some lessons I’ve learned:
Use Sections to group similar fields (Contact Info, Preferences, Internal Use)
Hide fields that don’t matter for that record type or user profile
Leverage Record Types to show the right layout for the right kind of record
Pro tip: talk to your users. Seriously. Ask them what they actually need to see. Then tailor the layout accordingly.
