Schema Builder has always looked a bit overwhelming—and honestly, at first I thought it was just for developers.
But this week I had to explain how several objects were related in a meeting, and the Schema Builder made me look like a total pro.
Some things I like about it:
You can visually see relationships between objects
It helps identify lookup vs master-detail relationships quickly
You can even create fields directly in the view (did not know that!)
It’s still not my go-to tool every day, but when I need to explain data structure—or just wrap my head around it myself—it’s super useful. Especially for custom objects with a lot of moving parts.
One year in, and I finally feel like I’m starting to speak Salesforce fluently.
