I just set up my first Process Builder flow that actually does something meaningful—and no one yelled at me for breaking anything!
The goal was simple: when a new case is created with a certain category, assign it to a specific queue automatically. Took a bit of trial and error, but it worked.
What I learned:
Use the “when a record is created or edited” option carefully—sometimes you just want created only
Test with real examples in sandbox first
Always double-check your criteria and logic
I know Salesforce is phasing Process Builder out in favor of Flow Builder, but for this use case, it was quick, clean, and easy. And most importantly, it worked. But in all honesty though, I much prefer Flow Builder to Process Builder. I hope Flows replace this someday.
Oh, and I just realized that this blog post marks a year of me blogging about learning and working with Salesforce. So that’s pretty cool. I’m really enjoying. I wish I had started doing this earlier in my life.
